Priceline Hotel: 4 Star Niagara Falls Fallsview Nov 15

Hello,

I'm totally new to the Priceline process. I'm looking to get a hotel in the Fallsview district for this coming Saturday, November 15th. I'd like to get the Hilton, but I realize that with Priceline there's no guarantee.

Can anyone offer some suggestions as to a good starting bid? I'd hopefully like to pay somewhere in the $75-85 price  range.

Thanks,

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Unfortunately, Saturday night is on the expensive side for these dates and a 4* will likely cost more towards the $115-135 range. Would a 3*/3.5* be acceptable?

Hi ArronJB,

Thanks for your help with this.

Yes I guess the 3 star would be OK. It's not the star rating that concerns me as much as the location. After looking on the list of Niagara Falls Fallsview hotels it seems the two 3 star hotel are the Four Points Sheraton and the Holiday Inn. The Four Points Sheraton is just fine. In fact it is actually connected to the Hilton by an internal walkway so it's great. The Holiday Inn on the other hand is a bit futher away on Murray Street.

What do you think the pricing would be for the 3 star? Is bidding at a certain price more likely to land one or the other of the 3 star hotels?

The $115 isn't all that bad especially if it is for the Hilton, as that's where my event is taking place. The Marriot Gateway is quite far away, on the other hand, right at the top end of Fallsview Blvd.

Thanks,

G

The Holiday Inn on the other hand is a bit futher away on Murray Street.

Google Maps puts this at a 2 minute walk... would this really be too far?

Also, keep in mind that the star rating you choose when you bid on PRICELINE is the minimum that you're willing to accept and your bid could be upgraded to a higher rated property; and there are quite a few 3.5*/4* properties in the southern part of this zone which would be quite a bit further than the Holiday Inn (which you can book HERE (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $119/nite)

Since location seems to be an issue for this stay, you can also try searching our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com which will show you hotels near almost any address in the world, and the interface makes it very easy to see how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating OR to stay closer/further from your ideal location.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

It's further than ideal. As I said in my earlier post the Holiday in is further than the Four Points which is connected by an internal walkway, so I wouldn't have to worry about a jacket etc for walking outside depending on weather.

I'm aware of the location of different hotels and that is a concern. I know that some of the 4 star hotels are quite a bit further to south along Fallsview and even said that in my post. I'm new to the process and looking for some guidance as to a good bidding strategy, including if there is a way to be more likely to get one hotel rather than another.

Thanks in advance

My previous comment was to make you aware that the star rating you choose is the minimum that you're willing to accept, so if were you to bid on a 3* hotel, it's possible that you receive one of the 3.5* or 4* properties (which could be even further than the Holiday Inn which is a 2 minute walk away)... would one of the southern 3.5* or 4* hotels be an acceptable outcome?

If not, then you will need to use PRICELINE EXPRESS and/or HOTWIRE and see if you're able to guess the hotel offered beforehand, and then determine if that would work for your needs for this nite... or book a hotel thru MAPS and HOTELS.com which is close enough to your desired destination.

When bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to target (or avoid) a specific hotel in the zone... you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

Is your budget still in the $75-$85 range? If so, i don't think that this will be enough for a 4* hotel for this solo Saturday nite, but if you want to give it a shot:

When bidding 4* in the Niagara Falls region you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Niagara Falls - Fallsview Blvd...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $78, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $83, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85

Any questions feel free to ask. If the above fails let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
