Hotwire Hotel: 1st time visitor - help please!

Hi I am a first time visitor to New York and looking for some advice about best strategy to take when booking a hotel. I've been researching a lot but am a bit nervous about using a secret deal or bidding, looking for some advice about what the following hotel may be:

Deal on Hotwire £679 total for stay, dates 6/12/14 to 10/12/14, Madison square garden, hells kitchen area. Secret rate, 4*, 70% recommended, facilities include:

Free Internet

Smoke-free rooms

Fitness center

Restaurant(s)

Business center

Golf nearby

Accessibility

Accessible for visually impaired

Accessible for hearing impaired

Would this be a good area to stay in? Any idea of hotel? Thought it might be Wyndham New Yorker hotel, although may be wishful thinking!
