Nycboundjr Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Hello, This is my first post and am hoping for help identifying a hotel in the Empire State area on Hotwire. It's a 4 star hotel at $324 with the following amenities...for two days, December 4-6.FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Roll-in showerAny suggestions of other hotels in the area for this budget or less would also be very much appreciated! Thanks for your help.
AaronJB Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)When searching for 2 adults for 12/4-6, I'm seeing: (You may see slightly different prices) 4* ESB (all 3) $324: Boutique, Restaurant, Business, Laundry, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Roll-in Shower. Possible match for Kitano. $375: Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Roll-in Shower. Likely the Strand. $360. Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower. Likely Roger (which does charge a resort fee.) Unfortunately, this is really square in the middle of the busiest part of the holiday season in NYC and there aren't a whole lot of options, otherwise. I'm seeing what appears to be the OneUN for $320 and the Wyndham New Yorker for $271. Let us know if either of these options would be of interest. Otherwise, Midtown options at the 4* level that are available on Hot.wire are all $350 and higher, it appears. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Nycboundjr Posted November 11, 2014 Author Report Posted November 11, 2014 Thanks very much for the detailed reply. In your experience, is there any value in waiting at this time of year in hopes of better deals? I will use the links to book from this site when a decision is made.
AaronJB Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 There's no guarantees regarding whether prices may move up or down closer to your stay, but they can definitely go up and this (the first week of Dec) is traditionally a VERY busy period. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted November 11, 2014 Report Posted November 11, 2014 While you're waiting to make a decision, you could set alert(s) at RateDrop to know any time a 4* hotel in this zone (or any other zones you select) drop in price; as well as make a refundable reservation using BackUpBooking.com, but will re-iterate above AaronJB's comment that historically this is one of the busiest times of the year in NYC.
