ajpetersen5 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Hi, We are looking at hotels for November 25-27 in Sydney, Australia. Currently, there is a 4.5 star hotel in the express deals in the opera house area for $205/night. Also, there is a 4 star hotel in the darling harbor area for $166.00/night. We are just hoping that you could identify which hotels these are. Appreciate the help very much and will use your links to book.
ajpetersen5 Posted November 10, 2014 Author Report Posted November 10, 2014 also, Hotwire has a 5 star in City Centre $206/night. Could this be the same as the 4.5 star on priceline?
thereuare Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! Price.line and HOTWIRE (as well as every other online booking agency) each use their own criteria to assign star ratings to hotels, so it is certainly possible that one company rates a hotel 5* while another 4.5*. Often the two companies rate properties the same, but when their is a difference, HOTWIRE is the one that is more generous and a half star rating higher than PRICELINE. For help with the offers above, please include the full amenities set that each uses to describe the property offered. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. thereuare Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Unfortunately none of these hotels have yet been reported to the board as-is... My guess for the HOTWIRE property would be the Swissotel Sydney, Hilton, or Pullman Hyatt Park. For the PRICELINE EXPRESS properties... can you confirm the zone of the 4.5* property, as i'm seeing a 4.5* rated hotels priced at $205/nite with the amenity set you have posted but the one i'm seeing is in the Downtown-Sydney Opera House zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ajpetersen5 Posted November 10, 2014 Author Report Posted November 10, 2014 Yes, that's the correct zone for the Priceline 4.5* (Downtown opera house)
ajpetersen5 Posted November 10, 2014 Author Report Posted November 10, 2014 Any ideas on the Priceline hotels?
thereuare Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Please don't bump your thread(s) inside of 24 hours as it usually will only delay a reply... For the 4.5* Downtown-Sydney Opera my guess would be The Grace Hotel... i don't have a guess for the 4* property as those two solo amenities are present at too many 4* hotels in the zone. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com if you decide to book a 'known' hotel at regular rates. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
