Hotwire Hotel: Vegas trip in April

My wife and I are planning a trip to Vegas around April.  Neither of us have ever been before.  My travel dates are flexible but so far it looks like tue-sat first week of April are the cheapest flights on Southwest and rooms on Hotwire.  I'm looking at the North Strip, 5 star, but not particularly tied to one place.  Just not Trump.  It looks like rooms range 139-179 a night except Trump which was 97 a night (no casino).

My questions:

Is now a good time to book rooms or wait?

Same thing with flights, they are just under $400 a ticket and we are coming out of a small airport.  Should I wait on the flights or book now?

Welcome to Betterbidding.

Rates can vary from day-to-day, sometimes significantly. Unless there's something going on (convention, etc) you likely have a little bit of time for an April booking. Still, there's an approximate reasonable floor for Vegas prices and it becomes judging when there's more potential upside then downside. Let us know when date/s are confirmed and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID listings.

Also, in terms of Tues-Sat, are you looking at 3/31-4/4 or the Tues-Sat after? Which zone/s would be acceptable and what would be your desired budget per night? How many rooms/how many per room?

I can travel pretty much anytime in April.  Budget $200 and under. 1 room 2 people.  Was looking North strip but fine with the Bellagio/Central.  I was talking about 3/31-4/4 because those seemed to be the lowest rates.  I can also save about 300 on flights if I leave Sat instead of Sunday.  $139 a night 5 star north strip (not trump)  seemed pretty good. Was wondering if I should move on it.

Using the easy tool the only ones I get are 177 and 179 per night.  The one that is $138 show up under the Hotwire tab but not the easy view tab.

I guessing the one I'm looking at for $138 is probably the Wynn.  Will I find much cheaper is I wait?

That is a reasonable rate for the time period, but no one knows whether or not rates will come down closer to the stay. Right after 2008, you saw a lot more last minute deals, but now that demand has ramped up, there's noticeably less - keep in mind that rates can suddenly go both ways.

This is discussed in greater detail in the FAQ.

I checked and there is a 39K attendee conference taking place during the first few days of your stay, plus the last nite of your trip is a Friday nite (usually higher prices).

As per above, nobody can say if rates will come down or move higher between now and your trip, but if you're happy with the ~$140/nite rate (especially given the other 5 star properties are $30+ per nite more expensive) i would be inclined to lock in a deal now than wait.
