Looking to identify some hotels for nov 14-15. We want to stay near navy pier and it's for two adults and two children. I found 97 for 4* mag mile river north and 110 for 4.5*. I tried to copy and paste all the amentities but it keeps erasing my original post. The 4* had a pool and the 4.5* was pet friendly I remember. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

We will need to know the complete set of amenities in order

Are you using the EASY VIEW tab at Bidding.helper and copy/paste the amenities using the 'COPY AMENITIES' link provided after clicking the GREEN button to see the full list of amenities?

If you are still having an issue copy/pasting in a reply to this thread please send me a PM explaining the issue in a bit more detail (exactly what are you clicking and then how are you seeing it 'erased') as well as what operating system (Windows, Mac, phone, tablet, etc) you are using as well as your browser and version number.

Thanks.

Now they have changed and the prices went up since yesterday. I'm using an iPad. I put a watch on them. Maybe they will go down after the weekend? Thanks for any help!

In Mag Mile/RN I'm seeing:

4* $123 Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Pet Friendly. Likely Sheraton.

4* $100 Boutique, Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Spa, Pet Friendly Likely W Lakeshore.

4.5* $153 Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Pet Friendly. Not yet ID'd/reported to the board - may be an upgraded Westin River North (previously reported as a 4*.)

I'm quite familiar with Chicago - let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for keeping us updated on what you decide.

The W would be a great location for navy pier I think? I'm not getting that one to show up. Maybe if I try a different computer. I will still use the better bidding link though! Thanks for your help!

It can take some time to research hotels, and as you can see the prices and/or offers can change quickly... please only ask about hotels that you're happy with the price and ready to commit to, as the price and/or offer may change by the time you're willing to commit.

I put a watch on them.

You can also use our RateDrop service which will monitor HOTWIRE, PRICELINE EXPRESS, as well as any 'regular rate' hotels that you choose for your specific star rating, zone, and dates (so you don't get alerts for things like the Airport zones which you likely have no interest in for this stay)

Navy Pier I wouldn't really recommend, especially now that the weather's gotten colder and the season is basically over (rides are likely closed, won't be many people around in general.) That said, if you can get the potential W listing to appear (and you may see it for a slightly different price) and you like a W-style boutique, I think that's a good deal - especially if you're just looking for a place to sleep for the night. That W was also renovated not that long ago.

Keep in mind to see all of the amenities on a listing, you may need to use Biddinghelper.com, as noted above. Or click the listing, click "book now", then click "see all amenities" on the next page.

There may also be some variation on what's showing, depending on the device used.

I actually wanted to do it last night but waited for a reply on here and then when I went back to do it this morning the rate changed as I know it often does. Especially being a Friday when more people start booking. We need to be at Navy Pier for a competition my daughter is in on Saturday so that is why we wanted to be in that area. Thanks for the tips!

I'm not seeing the W when searching this evening, but I am still seeing the Sheraton for $123 on Hot.wire, as well as the Doubletree for $133, both of which are just a few blocks West of the pier. On PRICELINE EXPRESS, I'm seeing a 3.5* for $121 w/breakfast, pool, business. That listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. I'd guess that MAY be one of the Embassy Suites properties - but that's a guess and it may be something else. That would not guarantee 2 beds (you'd have to call and negotiate with the hotel), but for $121 at least you'd also be getting breakfast included.

Embassy would be a huge win but I don't know if I would be willing to risk not having two beds. We might even be taking a third child with us now. We have the Hyatt on wacker with parking and tx inc for 274 as our backup but I would like to save money if I can. I just don't know if the weekend is the best time to book on hotwire?

Parking is expensive at hotels, but with $274, that still leaves a lot of room.

I'm still seeing the Sheraton for $122 on HOTWIRE this morning when searching for 11/14-checkout 11/15. With tax that's $152 and change. You can park at Navy Pier, which - if this is the Sheraton (and the Sheraton has been seen with this amenity set previously, so that would be my guess), that's cheaper now during the off-season.

Discount Parking Rates at Navy Pier
November 1 – March 22
Save 24% - 33% on parking!

$14 Monday – Thursday
$19 Friday – Sunday

So, $152 and change for the hotel plus $19 (and I'm guessing there may be city tax on that that may put it to $25-30, if not - all the better), so you're looking at around $175-185 all-in with this idea. If you parked at the Sheraton, that's $49. So that would put the total around $200, still less than the $274 via the Hyatt.

The potential Sheraton is a 4* in the Mag Mile-RN area w/Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Pet Friendly for $122. You may see a slightly different price. If this is the Sheraton, it would be a tad closer to Navy Pier than the Hyatt.

Let us know your thoughts on the above and let me know if you have any questions.

Checked again and I see a 4.5* for 108 with Amenities

Pet friendly

Smoke-free rooms

Fitness center

Restaurant(s)

Business center

Self-service laundry

Internet access

Or a 4 * for 120 with Amenities

Smoke-free rooms

Fitness center

Restaurant(s)

Business center

Internet access

Do you think the 4* is the Sheraton?

If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, you should then see all amenities associated with a listing.

I'm seeing a 4* in the Mag Mile-RN area w/Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Pet Friendly. That would likely be the Sheraton.

I'm also seeing a 4.5* in the Mag Mile-RN area w/Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Pet Friendly. That listing has not yet been ID"d/reported to the board, but my guess is that the Westin River North may have been upgraded to 4.5*.

Please let me know if you have any questions before purchasing.

Congrats on your success. :)

Great deal for what I think is one of the nicest under-5* properties North of the river. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for letting us know about the change in star rating for this HOTWIRE property so that we can update the site's Hotwire Hotel List.

The river view rooms at this property are a paid upgrade, but they - especially on high floors - do provide a terrific view of the Chicago river and surrounding area. The hotel may say no, but if you're interesting, it's worth a try to ask.

Thank you for sharing your win and using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
