ram111
Happy to report this win for the W in Chicago (146.61 with tax)--I was trying to book two nights (Fri and Sat) but it didn't work, so I guess I'll have to do each night as a separate booking on priceline. It took my first bid at 120 for Friday night (darn! I should have started lower!) When I attempted to book Saturday November 1st, I bid as high as $145 and couldn't win...will try later. At least we have one night booked!I used the PRICELINE link from Better Bidding.Thanks!PS--any tips on cheaper parking at the W? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Congratulations on your (partial) success! If you'd like help with, or to report a win for, the Saturday nite of your trip feel free to start a NEW TOPIC. I'm sure AaronJB (who is local to the area) will be able to offer some parking suggestions once he see this thread, but to get you started he has created this Chicago Hotel Parking thread which also includes non-hotel lots near the bottom of the first post, that should help you out and at least get you started. Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
AaronJB
PS--any tips on cheaper parking at the W? I'd consider Navy Pier, which is an easy walk to the East of this hotel. http://www.navypier.com/visit_us/parking.html There's also a number of lots and garages in the blocks to the W/SW of the hotel. You can also park in the Millennium Park lot, but would be a little more of a walk. Let me know if you have any other city questions at all, would be happy to help. Also, this W recently underwent a complete redesign and it now has a very different look than it used to. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
ram111
Thanks--the Chicago parking link is a great tool, and Navy Pier sounds reasonable! When I bid again for Saturday November 1st I will use the Priceline link and post the results too. Link to comment
AaronJB
If you're looking for something *RIGHT* nearby for breakfast, Yolk (http://www.yelp.com/biz/yolk-river-north-chicago-2) is a short walk away. If you need restaurant recommendations, let me know likes/dislikes and other aspects you are looking for and I'd be happy to offer recommendations. Enjoy your stay and keep us updated on what you decide for your additional dates. Link to comment
ram111
I just posted a new topic for Saturday night--Chicago Marriot Downtown Magnificent Mile at $160. Thanks!! Link to comment
AaronJB
Terrific deal and certainly a straightforward walk from the W to the Marriott. Let me know if you have any city questions. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
