cessnabmw Posted October 22, 2014 Report Posted October 22, 2014 Hello, Looking for some help with renting van from Dec 21st 10am to Dec 24th 6pm from FLL Airport. Seeing rates over $650CDN for the 4 days :(. Used PRICELINE link from BB. How do we get one cheaper? Do rates get cheaper closer to the rental?
thereuare Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please confirm the dates of your rental... your topic title shows 12/12-12/24 (twelve days) whereas your post indicates 12/21-12/24 (days); we will then advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cessnabmw Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 Oops... Typo The dates we are looking for are Dec 21 10am to Dec 24 6pm.
thereuare Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 You're traveling to Florida during one of the busier times of year as public schools have off for the holidays and families take vacations to visit grandparents in Florida (as well as to escape the east coast cold) If you use our Car Rental Rate Checker tool... In the Expedia tab there are some 'second tier' companies that are offering economy cars as low as $231 all-in for this rental. If you're not comfortable with the second tier companies, in the HOTWIRE tab, the first listing at $82/day-$371/all-in is for SIXT which is a legitimate company from europe that is trying to make inroads in the US (i would feel comfortable renting from them). The HOTWIRE rental from SIXT (where the rental company is shown before your purchase) is cancellable without penalty (confirm the terms during check-out), so i would take this (or the second tier company if you're comfortable with that) and then continue to use the Car Rental Rate Checker in the weeks ahead to see if you can do any better. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Does the gameplan above work for your needs? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
cessnabmw Posted October 23, 2014 Author Report Posted October 23, 2014 Thanks for your help. I see the $231 all in rate you saw. However that is for an economy car. We are looking for a Van.....
thereuare Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Sorry, missed the car class (van) in your first post... Could you make a mid-size or full-size SUV work for your needs? What about two economy cars? (if you're not traveling too much and simply needed the larger vehicle to get a large number of people from Point A --> Point B) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
