JPJ1983 Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 Hello I'm looking for a 4.5 or 4 stars hotel in midtown east or west, Central Park south or times square for my honeymoon for 170 to 200usd.I'm looking for a good hotel since it is my honeymoon, I've bid on Priceline for 4.5* hotel at MTE for 200 with no luck.Is it viable that amount at those dates for the whole week ? (since I've read that if you split the week you have more chances to get better chances to get a better price). What do you recommend me to do? I need help!!Is it to soon to place a bid at the mentioned dates? Thanks!!
thereuare Posted October 15, 2014 Report Posted October 15, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and congratulations on your upcoming nuptials ) Few comments... I don't think a 4.5* hotel is within your $200/nite budget for these dates. A 4* hotel is within your budget, BUT... You may want to re-consider including the CPS zone as it contains the Hudson Hotel, which while well located, has notoriously small rooms (even by NYC standards)... would this be an acceptable outcome? If you're looking for the best value (imo) i would look at the MSG zone where i think you can get a 4* hotel (the Wyndham New Yorker would be a frequently won hotel in this zone) for around $150/nite. What appears to be the Empire Hotel is offered thru PRICELINE EXPRESS for $173/nite which is in the southern end of the Upper West Side zone, just a few blocks away from the CPS zone (so an alternative if this is where you would ideally like to stay) Let us know your thoughts/questions regarding the above and we will take it from there.
