Priceline Hotel: 5* Times Square Dec 12-16

Hello,

 

I'm looking to stay in Time Square during Dec 12-16 (4 nights) and wanted to try Priceline for a 5* hotel. I note on your hotel list that the Chatwal is the only hotel listed as 5*. What would be the optimal strategy to attempt to bid for this hotel?

As noted at the top of the list, the list provides the hotels that have been reported to the board - new hotels may be reported to the board at any time (and new hotels are reported to the board almost daily.) The Chatwal is the only hotel that's been reported to the board at the 5* level in the zone.

 

Would you be okay with the possibility of a different hotel? What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

I would definitely be open to another hotel (provided it was the same quality level, hopefully!). Do you have a sense as to what other hotels may fall in the 5* category? Budget wise, I'd be looking at spending $350-$450/night for other hotels (4* mainly) if I were to book directly through Expedia or something to that effect, so I was hoping I could leverage that same budget to get a chance at staying at a nicer property.

The Chatwal is currently the only 5* hotel in this zone that i'm aware of, but as per the message at the top of the Priceline Hotel List new properties can be added at any time (or there could simply be ones that we're not aware of)

You might be able to get a 5* hotel near the upper end of your range ($450/nite) but a 4.5* hotel in this zone can more likely be had near the lower end of your range ($350/nite)... do you prefer to likely pay $100+ more per nite for a 5* vs. a 4.5*... or would the least expensive 4.5* or better be the goal for this trip?

Also, is Times Square the only zone you're willing to accept?
