Hotwire Hotel: 3* Harrisburg (East - Grantville) La Quinta Inn and Suites Harrisburg-Hershey

I usually use Priceline for bidding or express deals but thought I saw a good deal today on Hotwire.  Hershey, PA 10/24-10/25.  90% recommended.  3 stars.  Approx discount $143 to $99.

 

I took the deal and it revealed La Quinta Hotel.  When I checked again, this hotel was $114 regular price on Hotwire, so not a great discount.  When I checked on Priceline and La Quinta websites, they both had a regular price today of $99 for those dates!  I called customer service.  They said that they stand by their "lowest price" promise.  But what about the same price?  That is no deal!  They said that this "rarely" happens but there is nothing they can/will do.

 

I travel frequently and always have good luck with Priceline.  I will not be using Hotwire again.

Sorry to hear that your experience with HOTWIRE was a disappointment. The "retail price" is not the retail price of the underlying hotel, it's an average of comparable hotels for your dates.

 

If you could confirm the zone of the hotel and the amenities (this information is available under the trip information in your HOTWIRE account, click "My Account" in the upper corner of HOTWIRE), it would be greatly appreciated.

 

Hopefully the hotel will still work out okay for your travel plans.
