Trying to get a low price from Sav to El Paso

I just tried to get a bid accepted for a flight from Savannah GA to El Paso TX 11/19 to 11/25 without any luck. Normal price is $508 and I did a bid of $225 then increased to $300 but both were rejected. The system wanted me to accept $462 that is far from the 40% off that they advertise. Any advice or help would be great!  Can I try again tomorrow with the $225 bid or will the system make me start with the $300 one?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Over the last few years (feels longer) the airlines have cut capicity (ie- few flights, which means fewer empty seats on each plane) which has kept prices high and also a lot less 'distressed' inventory for them to try to sell at deeply discounted rates (which is why they advertise '...up to 40% off...'

Tomorrow (or today as you'll learn as you read on) you can start your bidding at whatever amounts you would like. Once your bid is rejected that bid is dead and has no bearing on your future bidding.

You can still continue bidding if you'd like by following the technique as indicated on this Priceline Airfare Re-Bidding thread (in particular see the 2nd post)

With retail rates at $500+ what is the most you'd be willing to pay for an 'opaque' ticket thru PRICELINE?
