thereuare Posted October 6, 2014 Report Posted October 6, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! trying to get a room with 2 beds in Manhattan, near TS, for vacation with family...PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. If this is not a risk you're willing to accept, HOTWIRE would still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) hotel must be 3* or plus and breakfast would be a must!In addition to not being able to guarantee room type, you also won't be able to guarantee a hotel which includes breakfast (although inexpensive breakfast in NYC can usually be had at a bagel or deli shop) What is your expected budget per nite (before fees/taxes) for this trip? Let us know your thoughts on the information above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. tairo Posted October 7, 2014 Author Report Posted October 7, 2014 thanks for fast answer and expected budget near $175 - $200 is my goal, but trying to stay between 5th and 8th...it is possible? couldn`t get it neither in Price.Line and Hot.Wire... help me guys
thereuare Posted October 7, 2014 Report Posted October 7, 2014 I'm not currently seeing any options within your budget that would accommodate four guests. Do you have a back-up plan OR would you sooner lower the star rating, increase your budget, or stay outside of the city and commute in? I'm not sure how much it would hep, but is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? If you're not driving, how (plane, bus, train, etc) and where are you arriving into the city? tairo Posted October 8, 2014 Author Report Posted October 8, 2014 how much should i increase my budget to stay where i pretend to in your opinion? i will arrive in JFK on monday, 10/13/14 and looking for some nice and clean hotel room w/ 2 beds near TS area or nearby a metro station that don`t take longer then 10/15 min tops to arrive...
thereuare Posted October 8, 2014 Report Posted October 8, 2014 Since you need quad occupancy (and PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy), if you search HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children, what rates are you seeing for a 3* or better hotel in a zone that meets your location parameters? Using BiddingHelper.com and the search parameters above (including 2adults/2children to ensure quad occupancy) i'm seeing a 3* hotel in the Times Square zone for $259/nite with: Fitness Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet --> best guess for this one would be The Edison Hotel Would this work for your needs? Your thoughts? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
