maggiewy Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Hi, could anybody please help me navigate on looking for this deal? First time here, would like to pay around 200-240$ per night. New york East Village or Empire State area, not Wyndham Midtown. Thanks for any help!!BestMaggie
AaronJB Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, this is a very busy period and rates are definitely on the high side, with 4*'s on Hot.wire starting at $285 and most over $300/well over $300. Unfortunately, $200-240 would not appear likely (although the upper end of that range is worth a try.) Also, while not guaranteed, given the length of the stay splitting your stay may provide a lower overall per night average. Would this be acceptable? thereuare Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 I will add that with your budget on the low end for these dates i would try to include more zones which may be acceptable since this gives more hotels the opportunity to accept your bid, which should increase your chances of success (although you still may need to increase your budget, lower your star rating, and/or SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID) The two zones above are not the most frequently bid zones by most users, do you familiar with NYC, have specific plans in these zones, or some other reason you're focusing on these two areas? Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 4* hotel for these dates in one of these zones? maggiewy Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 Hey Guys, thanks so much for the feedback, I'll try again today, I expanded the bidding zones yesterday and pushed the bid to 245, no success so far but I'll be trying tonight. I need to be situated quite centrally as I will be there with my mom who can't walk too much and would like something not too loud. I'll update you with latest news :) ThanksMaggie
AaronJB Posted October 2, 2014 Report Posted October 2, 2014 I'd suggest avoiding Times Square. Midtown East and the ESB area are very nice options. Which zones did you bid on up to $245? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
maggiewy Posted October 2, 2014 Author Report Posted October 2, 2014 ESB, midtown east, chelsea and east village - no success so far... :/
AaronJB Posted October 3, 2014 Report Posted October 3, 2014 What would be your absolute max bid per night for this stay? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
