Hi guys,

I'm super new to this and need some assistance with confirming the hotels in the two areas.

So far, I've made a few guesses...

River North

4.5* $232 (100%) Hyatt Place Chicago ?
4* $156 (75%) Hotel Felix ?
4* $189 (80%) - W Chicago Lakeshore ?

Water Tower

4.5* $211 (95%) thompson ??
4.5* $212 (90%) sofitel ?
4* $132 (75%) - the whitehall hotel ?
4* $128 (85%) - public chicago ?

Would you consider these fair prices? I'm traveling with my boyfriend, we're both in our late 20s, and I do prefer cool, boutique-y hotels. I'm also open to other recommendations!

We're mainly interested in sightseeing, art galleries, great restaurants. Thanks in advance :)

Welcome to Betterbidding.

Please list the amenities showing with listings if you would like help IDing.

Here's some of what I'm seeing (the prices you see may vary slightly.)

4* Mag Mile N-Water Tower $129 Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower.  Not yet ID'd/reported to the board. I would not guess the Public, as this listing has a 3.5/5 tripadvisor rating.

4* Mag Mile N-Water Tower $123 Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Golf, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly. Likely Whitehall.

4* Mag Mile RN Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Roll-in Shower. Likely Felix.

4* Mag Mile-RN Boutique, Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Spa, Pet Friendly. $185. Likely W Lakeshore, which was recently redone.

4.5* Mag Mile N-Water Tower Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Pet Friendly. $205. Likely Thompson.

4.5* Mag Mile N-WT Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Pet Friendly $212. ? Not yet ID'd/reported to the board. Maybe a new amenity set for the Omni or Sofitel, but may be something else.

4.5* Mag Mile-RN Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. The Conrad Hilton or Intercontinental may be possibilities.

If you are looking for more of a boutique, I'd really say it's between the potential Thompson and the W Lakeshore. Out of the two, I think the Thompson is a worthwhile upgrade for $20 more. The Thompson is in the Gold Coast area, which has a lot of nightlife and restaurants. If you're up for  a walk, it's an mild walk from here to the Lincoln Park Zoo, as well as the Old Town area and the bottom of the Lincoln Park neighborhood, which has a lot of restaurants, boutique shops and nightlife (and is more geared towards 20-30somethings, as well as more reasonable than the Michigan Ave area, both in terms of restaurants and shopping.)

I'll also note that I'm seeing what is likely the Wyndham Grand Riverfront for $165, but that's not really a boutique and is in a different zone.

Let me know if you have any questions before booking. Additionally, please let me know if you have any Chicago city questions.
