Koushik Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 In the order of preferences:1. Skokie, Niles, Evanston (I assume I will get free parking in the hotels in this area, correct me if I am wrong)2 Glenview, NorthbrookMaximum bidding amount before taxes : 50
thereuare Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 I assume I will get free parking in the hotels in this area, correct me if I am wrongI can't say that, as that is not a requirement or option that Priceline allows you to select... to use Priceline you need to be comfortable receiving any hotel in the zone at the star level you have selected. You can look at our hotel lists for this area and phone each hotel to see if they charge for parking (and will allow you to keep your car there while you travel, if that is your intention), but you could also be the first to report a new hotel in the area that may not offer parking terms that you thought.Let us know if you stil wish to move forward with the above and we'll suggest a strategy. thereuare Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 First snag: The highest rated hotel in your preferred zone, Skokie - Niles - Evanston, is 2.5*, which is below your 3* requirement.Would you prefer a higher rated hotel in the Glenview/Northbrook zone or would you prefer to bid for 2.5* hotels in the first zone? Koushik Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 I would prefer higher rated hotels in the Northbrook zone. Also, the Deerfield zone looks promising (two hotels had good reviews). So, I am more inclined to bid for the Deerfield zone than Northbrook (if needed will add the Northbrook with Deerfield).
thereuare Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 So your preference is now Deerfield and then Northbrook? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Koushik Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 So your preference is now Deerfield and then Northbrook? That is correct.
Koushik Posted December 9, 2005 Author Report Posted December 9, 2005 Ok, I got Hyatt Deerfield @ 42. So, for two nights including all taxes it came to 101.86.I started the bidding at 30 and after 6 iterations (used 3 free rebids and then my wife started bidding for me) got it at 42.
thereuare Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Glad to see you got it settled.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
