GSPC Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 I wish I could get Grand Hyatt for $120 since I notice someone got pretty good price in Jan. However, the 27th is still xmas holiday. I would like to get $120 for max but the change for getting 4* hotel seems pretty low... Midtown areas and downtown are my targetsGrand Hyatt $369Millenium Hilton $229Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Chelsea$268Beekman Tower Hotel$179Though I wish I could get 4*, otherwise 3* would be another choice...I need your advises for both starsThx
thereuare Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! What zone(s) are you willing to bid? At least one of the hotels you list above is in the Downtown area, which is not a zone that the majority of people bid. GSPC Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 Hi thereuare,Hee, I know downtown area is not the majority of bidding, but I dont mind to get downtown area since they might be cheaper and easier to get a room which compared with mid-town areas'....I wish I could bid a zone which closes to tourism area because I just have one day to visit in NYC. Moreover, I want to get 4* hotel within my budget $120/130, but I really dont know MTW, MTE or MTS which one is the best for me.... could you help?I would like to stay 4* or 3*(final choice) hotel within mid-town zone and downtown zone ( MTW, MTE, MTS & downtown)...Thx again
thereuare Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 The best areas for the typical user is MTW, MTE, and UM/CPS.You can read more about the zones in this thread: PRICELINE NYC ZONE DESCRIPTIONSI think i know what you're looking for, and $130 may be tough, but to give a try, first let us know... do you first want to try for a 4* including downtown, or would you sooner prefer a 3* in MTE, MTW, UM/CPS before trying for a 4* Downtown? (ie- would you rather have a higher rated hotel with a worse location OR a lower rated hotel with better location) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
GSPC Posted December 8, 2005 Author Report Posted December 8, 2005 I tried $130 for mid-town areas and downtown for 27th 2 days ago... but no luckso I would like to bid one more bidding for 4* around mid-town zones, UM/CPS, if no luck again, I will downgrade to 3* hotel.....my preference is lower rate with better locationMerci
thereuare Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 It was a question of prefering a lower star rating with a better location vs. a higher star rating with a worse location (not a question about the rate)At what time tomorrow is your 72 hour lock out period up?
