NYC has many different zones and depending on where you want to stay, the prices may differ drastically. Typically, Times Square/Theatre District is the most expensive. The "Downtown" zone is lower Manhattan and prices are usually a little better on weekends since it's a huge business area (lower occupancy on weekends due to less business travelers).

Which other zones (by PRICELINE name) are acceptable (even if you don't think your budget would be enough to win in the zone)?
