shopper2 Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 Hello: Travel dates are 11/7 - 11/10. Hotel List states 3.5*in Orlando Airport West is Florida Hotel and Conference Center, which is the one I want. Express shows 3.5* w/Bed avail for$81 Standard 2 or 1 Beds$120 Leisure Standard 2 or 1 Beds When selected, the amenities shown are:Indoor Swimming PoolOutdoor Swimming PoolFree ParkingRestaurantBusiness CenterFitness CenterThere is also a mandatory fee of $18/night, total $54. The resort fee matches $18/night at Florida Hotel & Conference Center. But the hotel does not have an Indoor Pool, and does not show Stand + Leisure rates. There is no clarification provided by Priceline on the difference between the two: Standard vs. Leisure. Can you help me identify the hotel? Also what are the chances of getting a lower rate and Florida Hotel in the bidding. Would prefer 2 beds. Thanks in advance P.S. Hotwire also has a similar deal 3.5* $85. But it lists spa and self service laundry also. Florida Hotel has spa but no self service laundry. Hotwire also specifies $18/night resort service fee.So is there a new hotel in the area which has not been identified in the Priceline & Hotwire Hotel list?
thereuare Posted September 12, 2014 Report Posted September 12, 2014 Welcome back... If you have used PRICELINE or HOTWIRE more than the one time HERE in the nearly 9 years since joining the board please begin to share your wins so that others can benefit from the information. Also, note the comments at the top of each hotel lists... the lists don't state what hotel is, it only shows what has previously been reported to the board. There could always be new hotels added to the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE systems, a change in star rating or amenity set, etc. With the above noted, while the Florida Hotel and Conference Center does may not have an Indoor Pool, it appears that priceline things it does. If you click THIS LINK and then click the 'View All Amenities' in the middle of the text which describes the property, the list of amenities includes 'Indoor Pool', so i would think the PRICELINE EXPRESS listing may very well be this property. If you try bidding for a lower price you'll need to be willing to accept any 3.5* (or higher) hotel in the zone and not be able to take any guess as to which property it is that you may receive. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed (or how it goes if you take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer) and we will try to assist further. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
shopper2 Posted September 12, 2014 Author Report Posted September 12, 2014 Thank you. I normally travel for business or rent timeshares for vacation, therefore have not used Priceline in very long time, and have not used Hotwire. I am going to a meeting and the group rate is little bit more than the express rate. The group rate gives flexibility of cancelling or modifying the dates so I have decided for now to not go with Priceline. If the price drops further, then I will go with Priceline and update the thread. Once again, thank you for your assistance.
