sgjanice
Hi,Ive just started looking for a hotel March 26-29, 2015. Ive stayed at the Marriot Stellaris and loved it plus got a great price on priceline...a few years ago. I have no idea what this hotel is winning bids at. Id also consider th Isla Verde area. Id like a 4* Any help would be appreciated with what others are winning bids for. Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Sharing any prior wins with the board (as the information still does help others) is greatly appreciated. In terms of the Marriott, there is no way to bid for a particular property - are other hotels acceptable at the star rating in the zone? What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
sgjanice
Yes other hotels would be great with a 4* rating. I was hoping to get a hotel for $150 a night. I loved the Condado area because of all the restaurants and stores. Ive heard Isla Verde is like this too. Link to comment
thereuare
To begin, do you want to only include the Condado zone in your bidding OR do you also want to bid the Isla Verde zone? Please confirm and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. sgjanice
Ok now Im confused...if I keep adding zones I really dont want might I end up in one of them? Link to comment
sgjanice
I get it now..there are only 3 other zones with 4* I tried adding Dorado and then Mayaguez and bidding up to $138 a night. I was iffy about Ponce even though it showed no 4* rating. Does PL always keep up to date with the star ratings? This bidding is not for the faint of heart...lol Link to comment
Romelle
Janice, I'm always concerned when using those free rebid zones also. Maybe some hotel just sneaked in an offering right after I checked to be sure the zones were really safe! What I do with a long sequence that takes me a while to execute is to open a second Priceline screen on my computer. In it I check the zones between each bid, so I know the opening for a new hotel is merely seconds instead of 5-15 minutes. While it only improves the odds from something like 1 in 1000000 to 1 in 10000000, I feel better doing it. Romelle Link to comment

AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :) Very nice rate for this property although sorry to hear that it wasn't exactly what you were hoping for. Hopefully the stay will exceed expectations. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
Romelle
... but not anything within walking distance. Ill just save extra money for taxis. About a 15 minute walk away is the Caribbean Cinemas - Fine Arts Miramar, 252 Avenue Juan Ponce De León. An interesting place. It is reviewed very positively on TripAdvisor. International/foreign movies, you can eat and drink in the theater, and it is very comfortable. Several public buses stop very near the hotel. $.75. The hotel is used to giving people advice on the routes. The buses go to Old San Juan and other areas. Do check with the hotel though, as the bus stops and buses are not clearly marked. Besides the hotel restaurants, very close there is TEXAS DE BRAZIL and CHINA CLUB. Romelle Link to comment
