Priceline Hotel: Bidding Help - NYC Nov. 14-16

It will my first visit to NYC and I am on a budget trip so I am hoping to spend around ~$75-80 per night (CAD).  For my stay on November 14th to the 16th, I am looking for a hotel in the Chelsea Area or Madison Square Garden, so I'll be bidding in those two areas. For that price range a 3* hotel would be nice but 2* hotel is acceptable too. It's my first time trying the Priceline bidding so please give me your advice on whether the price is acceptable and any strategies, thanks.

Your budget won't be enough to stay in the zones you want (or perhaps anywhere within Manhattan), you will likely need to increase your budget and/or stay outside of the city and commute in.

Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, search within 5 miles of 'Times Square NYC', then use the slider (left side of the page above the list of hotels) and narrow the search to hotels priced under $150... you'll see the few hotels that remain and many of which are hostels and/or YMCA (and possibly have shared baths)
