Our budget is $300 and looking for 3.5* to 4* hotel in convenient zone.

You can likely (easily) get something at the 4* level in the $250 or less range, and there are a few options, so tell us a bit more what you're looking for from a hotel for this leg of your trip...

Convenient to what? (restaurants, specific sites, shopping, etc?) How would you rank what is most important for this stay: location, quality, or price?

We think location is most important and room will not too small. It is convenient to subway and bus station.

Rooms in NYC are, almost by definition, on the small side, with some rooms even at 3.5-4* level around 130-160 sq ft. You also have to be willing to stay anywhere within the shaded zone area.
