Shanna Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I'm hoping to book Aria or Cosmopolitan for Sept 25th thru 28th...any suggestions on how to go about it? I checked Expedia and they are both around $300/night...I'm not sure where to start my bidding if I were to go thru PRICELINE... Thanks! -- Shanna --
thereuare Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 When using PRICELINE there is no way to target a specific hotel, you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates. Are you willing to accept any 5* hotel in the zone OR are you only willing to stay in one of the properties you mentioned above? (have you checked HOTWIRE to see if one of these may be offered for your dates and within your budget) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Shanna Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 I'm willing to stay at any of the 5* hotel in the South Vicinity (which I believe are only Vdara, Aria and Cosmopolitan). Although I'm hoping to stay around $200/night (rather than the $300/night expedia is showing). Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 At current rates i think it may take more than $200, but you can try the following: When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 5* Strip South... Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $193, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $198, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $200 Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Shanna Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Was not able to get a 5* for around $200. :( So now I'm thinking about trying for a 4.5...what do you think I should start at? Thanks for all your help!
AaronJB Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I know the Trump probably isn't of interest, but I'll note that what appears to be the Trump is $106 on Hot.wire (and could likely be had under $100 via Price.line bidding.) You've already bid up to $200 - would the savings vs other 5* options make the potential Trump of any interest? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Shanna Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 I am really hoping to stay on the south end of the strip. Thanks for the heads up though! :)
Shanna Posted September 5, 2014 Author Report Posted September 5, 2014 4* south strip area ($116)Dates 9/25 - 9/28Amenities: free parking, free Internet, resort, casino, fitness center, pools, restaurants, business center, golf nearbyThanks!
thereuare Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. For the 4* HOTWIRE property I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method below is what i'm seeing for the 4* hotel offered in this zone when searching for your dates: Free Parking Free Internet Resort Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Golf Spa Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing my best guess for this one would be the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. If you're looking to bid on PRICELINE at the 4.5* level, you have TEN re-bid zones and i would try: Select 4.5* Strip South... Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $198, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $200 Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

thereuare Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 The above is a match for the Westin Casuarina so that would be my best guess for this 4* Center Strip property.
