Priceline Hotel: New York Manhattan - Sept 15 to 18, 2014

My friend and I are looking for a 4 star hotel close to time square.

Dates: Sept 15 to 18, 2014

 

We've tried to bid through Priceline but were unsuccessful.

We selected the following locations and tried bidding for up to 140/night in CAD.

Central Park South    
Chelsea Area    

Empire State Building Area    detail map

Madison Square Garden - Convention Area    detail map

Midtown East   

Midtown West    

Times Square - Theatre District

Unfortunately, the Fall is generally a busier time in the city and rates are on the high/higher side - I'm guessing something may be going on for these dates as (given the rates I'm seeing) I'm thinking a 4* in Midtown will likely take over $300. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

Hi Aaron, thanks for responding to my post. We missed a deal with the UN ONE New York just a week ago. Including flight it was 618 USD (670CAD)

We were hoping that we can at least get a price comparable to that. With the flight ticket costing around 258 right now, we're looking at $275 tax included per night?

I saw that there were many successful bids under 200. Perhaps they are for other dates, I can't remember if departure dates were also mid-Sept.

If we can get anything under 200 CAD per night I think would be good.

I believe AaronJB's rates were in US dollars, which makes this an expected $300/nite vs. your $180/nite target... at current rates i agree with AaronJB's guestimate and don't think you'll be successful at $180/nite in any of the zones you're looking at.

Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find for a 4* hotel in one of your acceptable zones?
