thereuare Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Why the interest in the 3* property North property... for the same price, higher star rating, and 4.5/5.0 TA rating the South zone property would seem to be a much better value, imo. Data Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Oh, well, yes of course. Answer, we're old hard core Disney fans and picky as all get out. (We stopped using a car in the area visits years ago, less stress.) The Marriott truly is a great deal, but the shuttle wait late at night (reports say that the Marriott isn't comping your rides any more as well), no breakfast, (nearby restaurants with long waits & are pricey) and no in-room microwave. The Red Lion is just a so-so hotel really, amenities and good staff, yes ok, but very small rooms, and, again, no brkfst, and there is that draggingly overlong walk back late at night. If the $80 3* in North area were to be the Indigo, Desert Palms, or something, even though they aren't up to the 3.5 & 4*s in the south, the listing could be worth a look. I still haven't figured it out yet, any other ideas? *-) Was almost thinking about booking the 3* North and taking the $20 insurance, then dropping the reservation if it ended up being the Anabella or Portifino. 12 new hotels going up in the next two years in this area, should make things interesting. Thank you for your reply, and thank you very much for your interest!
thereuare Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 NOTE that the insurance does not cover a change in plans, not liking the hotel received, etc. There are specific conditions which need to be met, most of which are health related, so you would need to review the policy terms if that was the approach you were intending to take. I would sooner suggest seeing if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.
