thereuare Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! If one of your main goals is a 'nice' beach i would focus on the Isla Verde zone, as most of the hotels in the Condado zone have mad-made beaches and it's more of a lagoon as opposed the 'vast sandy beaches' that comes to mind when you think about a beach destination (although if this is just one nite pre/post-cruise i wouldn't focus so much on the beach aspect, imo) With the above noted, best guess/comments for each: 4.5* Condado --> Olive Boutique Hotel 4* Condado --> Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino 4* Isla Verde --> not certain, but the San Juan Water and Beach Club would be my guess for this one. HOWEVER, if you are interested in this property it can be booked HERE (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $135/nite and would also be fully refundable up until a few days before your arrival should anything better come up between now and then Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. shmox11 Posted August 28, 2014 Author Report Posted August 28, 2014 Thanks so much! I thought the Isla Verde hotel was maybe the Intercontinental. We are only staying for 1 night pre cruise but we get in at 1:20pm on Saturday and our cruise doesn't leave until 10pm Sunday. So although we'll be exploring, I wanted a nice place to hang out if needed for when we check out. Aside from the Keys in Florida and Myrtle Beach - I've never been anywhere 'tropical' haha nor a resort like these. I'm so excited for it so I wanted to try and get a great place. Are there any resorts that you'd recommend for us? Age 26 and 28 and Isla Verde Beach definitely sounds a little more up my alley from what I've read but we plan on walking around Old San Juan too. I might also check out Pricelines' deals and post again. I don't want to stay at Sheraton or Olive. San Juan Water and Beach Club isn't exactly what I wanted since I want to do a big resort but I do like that they have the complimentary water sports and rooftop terrace!! Can you tell I'm a little picky? Thanks for your help!

thereuare Posted August 28, 2014 Report Posted August 28, 2014 Best guess for the Old San Juan property would indeed be the Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel and Casino. As far as the Isla Verde properties, neither has yet been reported to the board and as you can see the amenities are fairly generic and apply to most 4* hotels in the area. A guess for the 4* without a casino would be the Water and Beach Club... for the one with a casino perhaps the InterContinental or the El San Juan?? Although reviews are mixed for most San Juan properties, the Intercontinental is often considered one of the better ones in the area, and more importantly for you i imagine, is it's on a great stretch of beach, if that is indeed what you're looking for (they have a good pool area as well). If you search HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children there is a 4* hotel for $144/nite with: Resort Beachfront Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Tennis Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... my best guess for this one would be the Intercontinental, if this is of interest.
