thereuare
Posted win on previous thread! Can you please further reply to your previous thread confirming that you ultimately made that purchase by bidding on PRICELINE? (or if you used PRICELINE EXPRESS if you recall the amenities associated with the property and shown before your purchase) I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i'm seeing for each when searching for your dates: 4* Midtown Central Free Internet Pet Friendly Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing, the City Club Hotel would be my best guess for this one. 4* MSG Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... the Wyndham New Yorker Hotel would be my best guess here Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. daisydaisy27
FYI -- Rooms that 'bidders' get at the City Club are 195 sq feet. They're considered "petite rooms" and are only recommended for a 1 night's stay. Management won't upgrade/change without a $50 upgrade fee per night to a regular queen room. All rooms are by the elevators & don't have a view. Link to comment
AaronJB
Sorry to hear that the result is a bit disappointing. While the lack of view is a bummer, 195 sq ft is not unusual (in fact, it's probably slightly bigger than average - some 4* properties in NYC have basic rooms that are around 130-140 sq ft) for a non-upgraded room in NYC. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
thereuare
You can try to ask for an upgrade again at check-in, but $50 is the price difference between their Petite room and the Queen Luxe which is the next room class, so not likely something that would be given complimentary and the hotel is being reasonable in their logic behind the cost of the upgrade. Even if you are willing to pay, the hotel is sold-out for the first few nites of your stay, and checking the balance of the nites a Petite room is selling for $470/nite, so while the room may not be what you were expecting, it's still a good deal given these high demand dates at this property and/or in NYC. If you find the room to be too small i would ask again about an upgrade a few days into your stay (once the hotel is no longer sold-out) and see if you can negotiate a better upgrade rate starting on September 10. Good luck and have a great trip. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
