psywzrd
Looking to book a 4* Baltimore Inner Harbor - Downtown - Fells Point on Priceline for Friday August 29-Sunday August 31. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
psywzrd
I'd like to get under $200/night if at all possible. I actually already have a room booked for these nights at the Sheraton Inner Harbor for $259/night but I would cancel that if I can do better. With taxes it comes to just under $300/night and that seems like an awful lot to me (I do know that it's a holiday weekend). Link to comment
thereuare
At current prices it looks like $200 may fall short for a 4* property, but to give it a try: When bidding 4* in the Baltimore region yo have EIGHT re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* Inner Harbor... Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $200 Any questions feel free to ask. You can also try searching our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to see if there is anything within your desired location at a good price (also makes it easy to evaluate paying more to stay in your desired location OR to stay a little further away (or going down in star rating) at a cheaper price) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or the links in our Support Page for your hotel direct purchases where we have links to most of the major hotel chains and online booking agencies, including the Sheraton. Good luck and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. psywzrd
Thank you. Do you think I could get a 3 1/2 star hotel for that price? I believe the Sheraton Inner Harbor is 3 1/2 stars anyway. Link to comment
AaronJB
Given the rates that I'm seeing - Hot.wire doesn't have any listings at all for the downtown area for these dates - I think it's going to be difficult to get anything under $200, but it's worth trying at the 4* level first to see if anything will accept. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
thereuare
If you want to try the 3.5* level you have SEVEN re-bid zones and you can try: Select 3.5* Inner Harbor... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $200 I know you are looking for a rate less than the Sheraton, but if you're going to be paying the big bucks anyway, the Monaco is 4* rated and gets excellent reviews and may be worth the extra $20/nite. psywzrd
Looks like I can actually book the Baltimore Harbor Hotel for $90/night so I might just do that. That's way cheaper than I have now and there's no way I'm going to do better than that. Link to comment

psywzrd
Guess I spoke too soon. I thought I could just book the Baltimore Harbor Hotel for $90 but it's actually on request so I have to wait and see if they can get it for me at that rate. I also tried to get the Renaissance Harborplace for $143/night last night but they were unable to get another room at that rate. Bummer. Link to comment
thereuare
When hotel offers are 'on request' it means the company has sold-out of their room allotment at their per-negotiated rate and need to reach out to the hotel to see if they can get additional rooms at the same rate. If the hotel is slow and has a lot of rooms they have not filled on their own then there is a better chance of getting the room then when it's busy as hotels will likely have already sold most rooms themselves, and what inventory they do have, they would prefer to hold on to in hopes of selling themselves at full price. Let us know once you hear back and if you need additional help with this trip. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
