VTSnorkeler Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I have been trying to hit for a pre-cruise stay in Miami on priceline unsuccessfully since mid October.I have tried DT 4* starting at $70 and using free rebids (dadeland, north miami and sw miami) up to $110I have tried DT 3* starting at $60 and using same rebids up to $80I have tried Airport 3* $80 as a last ditch effort on my own before I sought bidding assistance, although we'd rather stay downtown for our pre-cruise stay.Am I doing something wrong, or is Sat Jan 7th a packed house in MIA?Help please????
VTSnorkeler Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 FYI - this is a 1 night stay Jan 7 2006
thereuare Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Have you looked at rates directly thru the hotel websites before you bid? The Hyatt is sold-out, the Inter-Continental is nearly $400/nite! These two explain your rejections at the 4* level in Downtown. I checked one of the 3* Downtown hotels and rates are nearly $300/nite.Do you have any back-up reservation? What is your maximum bid at each level within each zone? VTSnorkeler Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 I was hoping to keep it under 100. I've stayed in Miami before using priceline and paid $50I had no idea the rates were that high... that's NYC type rates?
thereuare Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 I'd book a cancellable back-up and hope rates come down in the next two weeks. If you want your back-up to be within your price range, you can look at the Holiday Inn Airport for $97/nite... the reviews are not very good, but they do offer shuttle service from the airport as well as to the port. The link above would be cancellable up until 3 days before your check-in... does that work, or would you rather increase your maximum amount for a better back-up? (or do you have other options) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
