Hi, I`am looking for 2 different plans whille bidding...

I could start at USD 120 to 2 1/2 stars hotel In UES / UWS - And could be at Days Broadway or Astor on the Park without problems (Don`t mind about small rooms, and I have been at these properties before) and accept untill USD 150.

And could accept from USD 140 untill USD 180 to a 4 stars hotel anywhere else in Manhatan close to subway (10 min walk is fine to me).

Please help me with some tips since I`ve been bidding for over a week and got nothing at all!!!

Me and my mom will stay NYC from Sep 26th till Oct 2nd!

(Sorry for my English, since I am Brazillian and speak Portuguese!!!!)

Regards!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

At current rates a 4* hotel in the UWS zone will run you $190-$210/nite... any other zone in NYC will maybe take an additional $10 off. I don't think you save much/anything with a 2.5* in the UES/UWS zone.

Are you able to increase your budget a little higher? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Thank you for Tips!

Could you tell me a plan to split it? The weekends are cheaper right? From Fridays till Sundays or just saturdays and sundays?

What price range could you suggest me for week days and weekends?

Posted

Usually Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nites are the least expensive days of the week in NYC (with Sunday being the least expensive of the three)... however, looking at your dates in particular i don't think you'll gain much by splitting.

I did find:

9/28-10/2

4* UWS for $195/nite (but for the next few days code METRO6 will take an extra 5% OFF bringing this just $5 over your previously rejected bid):

Indoor or Outdoor Pool

Pets Allowed

Restaurant

Fitness Center

Business Center

... my guess for this one would be The Empire Hotel

9/26-9/28

4* MSG for $202/nite (after the code above $192/nite)

Pets Allowed

Restaurant

Fitness Center

Business Center

... my guess here would be the Wyndham New Yorker

Your thoughts on the option(s) above?

As I have been to NYC over 20 times, I am now considering Long Island Stay.

A Hotel with a good conecction with Manhatan should be a great choice for me (I have never considered this option before), but have been reading some reviews telling that some hotels close to public transportation are about 15 inutes from Midtown (59 TH). Is it correct?

Can you suggest me good options over there?

The LIC is going thru a revitalization (ie- the area is changing for the better) but still has a ways to go, imo. Some of the area is still industrial with scrap metal businesses, graffiti, etc, and the area just 'feels' dirty to me. It's certainly do-able, but it is a trade-off between price and the 'nyc experience' you want to have for this trip.

Let us know how you'd like to move forward, and if bidding LIC, what star rating and budget you'd like to try for (also include the Manhattan zones which are acceptable, as we can use these as additional zones to increase the number of bids you can make)
