Rumrumt82 Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Hi, I am going to London with my husband and 16 month daughter for a week. I wanted to get a 4* hotel that is around $100-125 a night near the center of London. I tried bidding on priceline on the following regions:1. Bloomsbury / Marble Arch2. Kensington - Earl's Court3. Mayfair - Soho4. The City - Tower Bridge - St. Pauls Cathedral5. Westminster - Houses of Parliament - Victoria I am not sure if having an 8-night stay is the best way to go or to break it into two portions of 4-nights. Also, not sure what is the best way to combine these regions so I don't overbid. Do you know if it matters if I am trying this a month ahead of time vs 2 weeks ahead? Should I wait a week or two before trying to bid again? I have been trying like 10-15 different permutations each day this past week. Thanks,
thereuare Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. I think you're likely looking at $130-$150 for a 4* hotel in one of the zones above for these dates. While a few of your nites may be had for less if bid on individually, the other nites will be more expensive, and it doesn't appear that you would be saving much (if anything) by SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID. Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, what is the best deal you're able to find at a 4* hotel in one of these zones for your dates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
