fromage40 Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 There isn't really anything that matches the description for the following in the Hotwire - East Village/Lower East Side... 2.5 Stars. Free breakfast, free internet, fitness center, business center, self-service laundry, accessible for blind/deaf/path of travel. There's a hotel that I'm hoping matches this info (and two that I hope don't match!) Thank you.
yellowdog Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Please run a new search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. Then copy and paste the amenities, as well as the price, in a reply to this thread and we will then have a look at this offer. What is the name of the hotel you're looking for? Please use the PRICELINE and hot.wire links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog.

fromage40 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Report Posted August 16, 2014 Thank you both for the tips about using links on the Betterbidding website. The hotel I'm looking for is the Hotel East Houston, which I don't think matches the 2.5* offering on the Hotwire site.....I think it is probably the Holiday Inn L.E.S. or possibly the Blue Moon Hotel, both decent options. Thank you again for your help!
thereuare Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Is the Hotel East Houston the only hotel you're willing to to accept for this trip OR are you open to other options? Do you have a need to be in this specific zone or are others acceptable as well if a good deal is seen elsewhere? What are your needs for this trip? fromage40 Posted August 17, 2014 Author Report Posted August 17, 2014 Thank you for the reply---I'm trying to stay as close to the East Village as possible because I have plans to meet some people in a few East Village locations and there's certain to be a lot of drinking...I want to make the walk back to the hotel at the end of the night not overly long. There aren't very many hotels in the East Village, and they're all a bit pricey apart from the St. Marks Hotel which is already at capacity that weekend. Sohotel (near Little Italy) looks like a decent option but it's a bit further south than I had hoped to stay. I may just pay quite a bit extra and stay at the Washington Square Hotel --- I'm hanging out in the West Village one night. There aren't a lot of hotels in the West Village either, sadly.
thereuare Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Try using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com which will show you hotels within a given radius of almost any location in the world and the interface makes it easy to see how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating or to stay closer/further from your ideal location. Also, keep in mind that a taxi from the Village to midtown should be in the $10-$20 range, so even if you stay further from where you will meet your friends, it wouldn't be worth $20 more per nite to stay in this zone (or to stay in a sub-par/sub-star rated hotel), imo. You could take the subway to meet your friends but take a taxi home late at nite. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
