New York Pass

My friend told me about this New York Pass which lets you visit 80+ attractions for a flat rate.

Does anyone here have any first hand experience and is it fun and worth it?

I did some calculations, if I hit up roughly 2 attractions per day I would have made my money's worth. Just not sure if all the attractions are good. I also don't want to be rushing from one place to another.

The big pull to this pass is being able to use Fast Pass to skip lines for the popular attractions. I did something similar to that at Six Flags and the pass was definitely worth it.

It becomes a matter of looking at what the pass offers and taking into consideration what you really would want to see that the pass offers. If the admission costs for what you want to see on the pass exceeds the cost of the pass, it's a good deal (plus the bonus of if it allows you to get ahead of lines.)

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Just be careful and check a few actual attractions, and see what the venue actually charges (not what the pass place says that the venue charges.)  I noticed that one of the pass programs grossly overstated what a specific museum visit would cost in Chicago.  You might also want to check and see if any of the places that you would like to visit have free afternoons - that sort of thing.

We bought the pass for our trip to NYC last year.

We purcashed the hop-on hop-off option.

It was okay for seeing the entire city relatively quickly, but most of our guides were less than informative.

Like Penelope stated, a lot of the 'savings' listed are exaggerated.

Many of the museums listed take donations, so there technically is no listed price for admission.

Plus, it's doubtful you will have time to visit even half of the places on the list.

If I had to do it again, I probably would not purchase it.
