AaronJB Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. Please note that the hotels that have been reported to the board can be found here: Hotwire Hotel List New York 4* MTC - not yet ID'd/reported to the board. Maybe new amenity set for City Club, but that's just a guess. 4* UWS - likely Empire. 4* UWS Boutique - Possibly new amenity set for NYLO. 4* ESB - likely St Giles the Court or Carlton. 5* MTC - likely Westhouse, given the resort fee 4.5* MTC - no guess. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
WestEWest Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 Thank you! Anything pop up to you as an especially good deal? Any ideas on this one? 3.5* East Village - Lower East Side area Hotel95% recommended$298 from $394Pet friendlyFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterEDIT: I see it's probably Wyndham Garden Chinatown. Does this look right?
AaronJB Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 That amenity set would be a likely match for the Wyndham Garden Chinatown. To try to help narrow/focus the search, are you looking for something in particular in terms of hotel? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
WestEWest Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 It's just 2 of us and we would like to keep it around $300/night. We're not tied to any particular area as long as it has access to the subway, but if I had to choose probably West Village, Tribeca, Union Square, or Midtown Central. Doesn't need to be super luxurious, but a little step up from the Holiday Inn, Hilton Gardens, Courtyard by Marriott type of places would be nice. Just trying to get a good deal on a nice place.
WestEWest Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 One more: 3.5* SoHo - Tribeca area Hotel80% recommended$271 from $353Free InternetFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower Looks like the Holiday Inn Soho?
AaronJB Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Likely Holiday Inn Soho. I'm seeing a 4* in MTE w/:Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Tennis for $234. Likely the OneUN. Not ultra convenient at the far East border of MTE, but not bad and cheaper than the options above. I'm also seeing the ESB mentioned in the original post now for $275, down a bit from yesterday. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
WestEWest Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 Thanks for the help. This hotel recently came up, which I deduced was The Tuscany - St Giles. 4.5* ESB $306 from $534 90% recommendedFree InternetFitness CenterBusiness CenterSelf service laundryInternet accessDirect booking through the hotel for my dates for a reservation (not prepaid) was cheaper than Hot.wire by about $30 for the duration of the stay. No-brainer to book with them for a sure-thing at a better price with the benefit of being able to cancel and reschedule without penalty.

thereuare Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 You can sign up at Rate.drop and receive an alert any time 4*-5* hotels for your dates fall below your current back-up price. I see what is likely the Wyndham New Yorker for about $242/nite, it's not as nice as the Tuscany, but at $65/nite savings you'll have to decide if it's a worthwhile option for you or not. Let us know what you ultimately decide for this stay or if we can be of further help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
