Started at $60 and went up to $80 but all were rejected.  Think I'll have better success waiting a little later? Dates I am staying are 9/18-9/20.  Thanks.

Unfortunately, the downtown area is really quite expensive for these dates - not sure why (ballgame, convention?) What would be your desired max bid per night for this stay?

Thanks, yes I am going to a baseball game one of those nights so that may be why the higher prices.  I would be willing to pay $100 max, but didn't want to go that high yet if I thought I could get it lower by waiting.  Or, I'd be willing to go down to 3 star at a lower price, but priceline said the best deal was the 4 star.

Like you say, it's a game night so I wouldn't trust that any great last minute deals would appear. Do you have a back-up hotel?

 

And I don't think that a 4* is within your $100 budget. I believe you're looking at  a 3* with current rates.
