AaronJB
A new amenity set for the Novotel Les Halles would be a guess, but it this may be something else. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. are most paris hotels difficult to predict?I've never booked on priceline before, so what is the best way to get a hotel near the area I want? what is the difference between express deals and actual bidding? Could I get a better deal through bidding?I'm looking for a hotel in Paris between Oct 7 and 10 (3 nights). I would like to stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel near the louvre. I'm budgeting $200-$240cad/night.Any help? thx Link to comment
AaronJB
You can see all of the hotels that have been reported to the board at the links towards the bottom corner of this thread for the site's Priceline and Hotwire Hotel Lists. If there are few amenities showing with a PRICELINE EXPRESS listing that has not yet been reported to the board, a guess has to be made with not much to go on. Hot.wire generally offers more details and it's generally - although not always - easier to make educated guesses in regards to "unknown" listings. Bidding is generally at least somewhat cheaper than PRICELINE EXPRESS and Hot.wire, but you have to be willing to stay at ANY hotel at the selected star rating in the selected zone. Let us know your thoughts and we would be happy to offer further suggestions. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
d1nonly99
For the bidding, would the list of possible hotels be similar to the list of hotels on the express list. Are you able to provide some recent examples of hotels that people have won through bidding in the Opera quarter east/west or st germain area? Just to get an idea? 4 or 5 stars Link to comment
yellowdog
All reported priceline and PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel can be found in this link: Reported Priceline and Hotwire hotels But please note that this PRICELINE Hotel List is NOT a complete list of all hotels that PRICELINE offers in this area, it is ONLY a compilation of hotels that have already been reported on this forum. Hotels are added/removed by PRICELINE all the time, and star ratings can change at ANY time. As well, the geographic boundaries of an area are subject to change. We have a better history with HOTWIRE when it comes to Paris but it's a difficult town when it comes to predict and guess. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive. Keep us updated Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog. Link to comment

Just to get an idea? 4 or 5 starsYou can use the Hotel Lists to see all hotels reported to the board in each star level thru both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE (using the corresponding list) To see recent wins or wins for specific dates there are a few options: Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins - allows you to see wins for dates on our around the same time from as your travel dates (you can search 'macro' by region (ie- Paris) or more filtered by zone (ie- OQE, OQW, St. Germain, etc) Priceline Maps - enter 'Paris' in the location box and click any region/zone combination, all zones for the region will be propagated in the box below. Next to each hotel click the VIEW link and you'll see the dates for all reported wins for that specific property Lastly, the SEARCH FUNCTION works remarkably well.
