Thanks so much! I wonder why they would list as 324 regular and 63% off? Regular prices for these rooms are around $180. Is that typical for HOTWIRE to inflate prices like that to look like you are getting a better deal?

The "retail price" listed isn't the retail price of the underlying hotel, it's a compilation of rates at comparable properties for your dates. (fine print: "Savings based on median published rate we've found on leading retail travel sites in the last 24-48 hours for the same neighborhood, star rating, and stay dates.")

Okay, as I start to complete the transaction. It offers me another hotel - pretty much same amenties - just a higher rating of 90% recommended for $121 a night and $175 "original".

Thoughts?

I'm seeing the alternate property when i go thru the booking process and it has a 90% recommendation rating and the following amenities (when clicking the 'See more' link at the end of the list amenities after clicking BOOK IT):
