Hotwire Hotel: Hotwire Hot Secret Rate - Occupancy 3?

I'm looking for a great deal on a hotel on the Vegas Strip from Oct 11th to Oct 14th 2014.

We are 3 adults staying... Don't want to chance it with Bids or secret rates with Priceline since we could be screwed into a 1 king bed.

Hotwire and Expedia DO offer the chance to enter the number of adults. If I put 2 people, I get a $99 5-star North Vegas Strip hotel.

If I put 3 people, I get a $125 5-star North Vegas Strip hotel. I've also looked in the amenities and it seems like this is the same hotel.

Since it does give me a difference price I know it's taking into account that we are 3 (unlike Priceline which just ignores that fact).

Now my question is; I BELIEVE this is the 5star Trump Hotel on the Strip.

They DO seem to have a limited number of rooms with 2 queen beds but they also have many rooms with 1 king bed and sofa bed.

I've called Hotwire and although the lady could not tell me the room type she said she could "guarantee" a room type to accommodate 3 people.

Does this pretty much give me a room with 2 queens or could I get stuck with a one king and sofa bed (nobody wants to sleep on a sofabed on vacation)...

What do you all think? Any advice??

Looking for luxury 4/5 star hotel on the strip for $450-500 including taxes (but not necessarily the resort fees).

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Hot.wire guarantees "bedding" for the entire party if you search for more than 2 - that could mean 1 + sofabed, 1 + rollaway or 2 beds.

If you would like us to ID a listing, please provide the full list of amenities associated with the listing, as well as the star rating, zone and price per night before taxes/fees.

Based on what I've read on these thread, this is a little high for Trump... Maybe it's the dates?

Don't REALLY want to have someone stay on the sofa bed but what are other options? Has anyone heard of the room type change fees? Maybe I should just get a regular 2-person deal or do a Priceline BID on hotel and THEN call to change the room type for 2 queens (at Trump or anywhere else for that matter)? If I can get a sweet $90 deal bid for a king room somewhere, what are the chances of the "changing to a 2 bed room" fee to be $35-40/night?

Would likely be the Trump.

Rates can vary substantially in Vegas and other major cities, often from one day to the next.

If you bid on Price.line, that only guarantees 1 bed. There have been a number of instances of users reporting being charged an upgrade fee (as high as $50) at 5* Vegas properties. If you search for 3 on Hot.wire, you at least have a stronger chance of two beds (and, at the very least, should get some form of bedding for the entire party.) Additionally, things can vary substantially from day-to-day and if you bid on Price.line, a hotel could absolutely say no when asking about upgrading to two beds.

Are there any other listings of interest? What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?
