trentslori Posted August 5, 2014 Report Posted August 5, 2014 We were faced with higher prices than I like to see in Vegas, due to having a Friday and Saturday night included. After having bid up to $140 for a 5-star in the South zone a few days ago, we decided that we really didn't want to go higher than that for a 5-star. Location was key for us, so I aimed for best price for location, and Treasure Island was looking like the right thing for us. Priceline was showing a PL express deal that I believe was probably Treasure Island for $113 per night: (7.0 or higher, internet, outdoor pool, free parking, restaurant, business center, casino and fitness center...total with taxes & fees: $395.07...with resort fees projected at $84). I figured I had nothing to lose by bidding lower, plus I had a slight (okay, impossible) chance of being upgraded to a 5-star. Bid up to $90 the other night (there are only 4 free re-bid zones for a 4-star), and didn't get it. Today I got it for $110. Previous bid was $105, so perhaps I could have gotten it for up to $4 per night cheaper, won't know now). So, Woo-hoo, saved twelve whole dollars over the express deal price (hey every little bit counts, ya know? Besides I prefer the thrill of bidding to the fairly obvious express deals!). Total with taxes and fees $383.28 for three nights. Of course, we will still have the darn resort fees, but they all seem to have those these days. Utilized the PRICELINE link here (as always) to accomplish this.
