wrexter
Hi guys Need advice on bidding strategy on a hotel for Washington DC, budget is round $120-$130 a night, would like to stay not too far away to the main city (i.e. 10 mins by train would be ok) 3* to 4* would be great. Thank You Link to comment
AaronJB
Please confirm the zone/s (by name) that would be acceptable and we would be happy to offer our thoughts on how to proceed. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment

thereuare
Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is the goal the least expensive 3* or better for this leg of your stay? Are you willing to pay more to stay closer to 'DC proper' vs. a suburb of the city? I know you have been researching your trips for awhile, are you ready to commit to this leg of your trip at this point in time? wrexter
I am happy with a 3* or better, the goal is the least expensive. Happy to stay as far out as Arlington & Crystal city, especially since we are only tehre for 2 full days (take early train on 4th day). Considering we will arrive at DCA late on the 13th, is Crystal city a good option? Yes i have been researching for a while, but since i am only a month away now i am definately ready to commit to this leg of the trip. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
thereuare
Yes, Crystal City is generally considered convenient. There is a metro stop there and if the hotel is too far from the metro to easily walk (some hotels have a shuttle to the metro), then if the hotel has a shuttle to the airport you can take that and take the metro from there. Should we include Crystal City in the list of acceptable zones above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
