baskiddball Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 I have been bidding the last 2 days and have been unsuccessful. I am worried I might run out of bids. I have been bidding only on the south strip, with hopes of getting something like Planet Hollywood or Paris Paris and have upped my bid NUMEROUS times from 60 all the way to 150 dollars. I am shocked it hasnt accepted 150 dollars for the property. I switched from bidding on Aug 1 - 4 to bidding on Aug 1-3 as I went higher for the bids because it was purely the weekend and I figured I could get Sunday for cheaper. I would start bidding on the North strip but I do not want to risk getting the Trump hotel. I am hoping for 4 star and above. I would take a 3.5 star in the south strip if it meant getting The Flamingo for a little less money but Im really afraid I will get the Luxor. I have even explored priceline Express for the first time ever and still no help. I am desperate for help and would be so appreciative if anybody could give me some help.
AaronJB Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 I'm seeing what appears to (unfortunately) be Luxor for $115 on Hot.wire, as well as what appears to be Treasure Island for $152 and Planet Hollywood for $154. Given that you've already bid up to $150, would any of these be of interest? If so, let us know and we would be happy to point out the listing on Hot.wire. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
baskiddball Posted August 1, 2014 Author Report Posted August 1, 2014 Thanks a lot for getting back to me. I did see the Planet Hollywood listing for 154 on HOTWIRE, I was just disappointed it was so high for a 4 star. If that is the best I can do I guess I will have to go for that, but I am shocked that it is so much money when I had no problem getting the venetian, a 5 star resort for significantly less last time. I guess it doesn't help that I am so last minute and it is a Friday and Saturday. Do I have any other options in terms of naming your own price method? Or any other options on any other kind of sites?
AaronJB Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 There's Hot.wire, Price.line Express and Price.line NYOP - are you seeing anything of interest on PRICELINE EXPRESS? Rates vary from day-to-day and unfortunately, these just seem like very busy dates (possibly a convention or other event?) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
baskiddball Posted August 1, 2014 Author Report Posted August 1, 2014 I have looked at PRICELINE EXPRESS and the rates are pretty bad based on the hotel they are giving. There are so few deals on it too, it has just come at a big surprise. I changed my strategy slightly and went to 3.5 stars in the south strip, but I have gone up to 101 dollars so far (from 60) and still nothing has been accepted. Am I doing something wrong?
thereuare Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 Rates, especially in Vegas, are rate specific, as well as more expensive Friday and Saturday nites (vs. midweek)... we've certainly seen weekend rates higher than they are at the moment. PRICELINE EXPRESS currently has a 4* hotel in the Strip South zone for $122/nite: Free Internet in room Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Parking Business Center Casino Fitness Center I'm guessing this may be the Monte Carlo or NYNY. Also, HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel Strip Center for $72/nite: Free Parking Free Internet Pet Friendly Casino Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ... best guess here would be the Westin Casuarina, which is not exactly on the strip, but a short/moderate walk to the Strip. Either of these work for your needs this nite? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
