Priceline Hotel: 4* Honolulu (Waikiki North) Hawaii Prince

I had booked a hotel in Cancun (through PriceLine), but my reservation was cancelled because the hotel will be closed due to damage from Hurricane Wilma.

I got Delta to rebook my flight (using SkyMiles) to Honolulu instead of Cancun. Now I just need to find a good hotel.

I had paid $105 per night for a 4 star hotel in Cancun (Marriott Casa Magna). Is it reasonable for me to expect to get a 4 star hotel in Waikiki for the same price? Actually, since the booking was cancelled by the hotel, I get a $10 per night bonus from PriceLine. So my bid would be $115.

Is my hope in vain?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Are you willing to stay in either the Waikiki North or the Waikiki South zone... or is only one of them acceptable?

Look at the Priceline maps of each to see the boundaries.

Let us know which zone(s) you are willing to bid and we'll advise accordingly.

Not sure about the availability on your specific days, but your "hope" is certainly ballpark. You're likely to have to pony up a few more dollars, however. Just look at what recent successful bidders have paid for Honolulu.

Thanks for the replies.

I succeeded in getting a room at the Hawaii Prince for $121 (plus the $10 bonus from PriceLine).

I used some of the bidding tips I read in this forum and got it on my third try. :)

Can't wait to go, especially after reading the many positive reviews of the Prince.

Thanks.
