Hi

I just found this great website to discuss about the great deal.

I'm trying to stay at Jersey City for 12/23 to 12/25 (2 nights).

Hyatt.com is currently showing $169 for 12/23 to 12/25.

Hotwire is currently showing $103 for the days. (4 stars in Hoboken - Jersey City)

I'd appreciate advice on how and how much to bid for this... thanks!!

You do realise you cannot bid for a specific hotel?

The Doubletree Club Suites Jersey City is the other 3* that comes up instead of the Hyatt would that suit you?

Checking their best rate for your stay gives

Room Description:

1KNG/1BDRM STE/NON SMOKING

Rate Type:

NET DIRECT RATES

Rate per Night (USD) 111.20

and looking elsewhere :) shows that some people have got the Doubltree for your dates for $60, whilst another has the Hyatt for $74.

Could be a close call :)

You do now have a free rebid (Elizabeth area has No 3*) but I'll leave the expert Thereuare to give you a strategy.

Have you a cancelable backup??

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Looks like the Newark area has recently been re-zoned as the Elizabeth area used to be Elizabeth-Newark Airport (with an addition Newark Airport zone covering the area north of the airport).

Anyway, regarding your own bid above...

If you're comfortable with any 3* hotel in the Jersey City zone...

Select 3* Jersey City...

Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $71.

If the above is rejected wait 72 hours and...

Select 3* Jersey City...

Bid $81, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $93.

If you're not really open to any hotel other than the Hyatt i would sooner just take Hotwire's offer as gives you a much better chance of targeting the property you want (i'm assuming the amenities for the 4* match thos in our HOTEL LIST for the Hyatt.

Let us know what you decide and how it goes... or if we can be of further help.
