Hi,

I'm a first time bidder.  I've read the advice on this board and it seems simple enough.  But I'd like to ask if anyone has had luck bidding in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  All of the accommodations seem 4* expensive whether they are 4* or not.  I perceive this to be a supply and demand issue with the cruise line guaranteed traffic...but if I can bid for a lower price that would be swell.  Where should I start the bidding process though? Any help is much appreciated.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

To get started... what are the date(s) of your stay and what is your desired star rating, budget, and zones? Is this a pre/post-cruise stay OR is this for a vacation in the area?

This is a pre-cruise one night stay check in Feb 28, 2015 and check out Mar 1, 2015.  My budget is hopefully less than $90.  Obviously the higher the * rating the better but willing to settle for 2*-3*.  Zone 11 preferred but Zone 10 would work.  Thank you for your guidance.

PRICELINE EXPRESS has THIS 3.5* hotel in the Old San Juan-Condado zone for $93/nite (confirm the dates on the landing page after clicking the link)... my guess for this one would be the Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel and Casino.

Do you want to go with this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer (since it's higher rated than the 3* you thought your budget would likely warrant) or do you want to try bidding? If the latter, please confirm the zones (by PRICELINE name, as the zone numbers will change any time priceline adds, removes, or renames the zones in this region) as well as if you'd like to first try for a 3.5*, 3*, or some other star rated property.

I didn't know about Priceline.Express...I tried just plugging information into Price.line and was getting minimum $159.00/n prices.  I have about another month before I can book (I'm waiting on my vacation partner).  How do I re-access Priceline.Express a month from now (understanding the rates may differ then from now)?  Because, yes, I would totally go for this deal rather than bidding.
