jberge Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 Looking for a 4*+ hotel in any area of Manhattan for $200/night if possible. I will be driving, so "cheap" parking at the hotel / an area that is not a nightmare to drive around would be appreciated. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, cheap parking is really not available at NYC, with a couple of exceptions (Travel Inn and the Skyline, a couple of 2.5-3*'s in the Hell's Kitchen area.) Most hotels do charge around $50-60 and higher per night for parking. Additionally, this night is unfortunately quite busy - I think for a 4*+ you're looking at at least more towards the $225-250 range. thereuare Posted July 22, 2014 Report Posted July 22, 2014 I would look into taking the train from either Westchester or some place north of the city... leave your car there and not deal with the hassle, or expensive, of parking in the city. If you do decide to drive you can take the West Side Highway or the FDR Drive depending upon which side of Manhattan you ultimately end up on. As far as zones i think any of the following should be fine: Chelsea, ESB, MSG, MTW, TS, Union Square, LES (although TS and MTW could be difficult to drive if that is a real concern for you) These zones may be fine depending upon your needs: Downtown - not the most convenient, but do-able if the price is right, and given rates are high for these dates, a zone you may want to consider if price becomes more a factor than convenience (and the money saved can be used for a taxi to your event) MTE - most 4* hotels here are well located, but a few can be up to a 15 minute walk to the subway (again, if the hotel is cheap enough a taxi ride solves this issue) Soho - not hte most convenient to your venue but taxi would be fairly inexpensive Let us know your thoughts in regards to which zones you'd like to bid, and confirm your maximum bid, and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
