Nmtmev Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 Hello, This is my first post. I will be as Thourough as possible with the situation. Using the Bidding.helper on this site. I plugged in Palm Desert, Ca for 7/25/14 to 7/27/14. Results are as followed; Hot.wire deal; $65 per night 4* Rancho Mirage - Palm Desert Amenities Include: Free Parking, Internet access, Pool(s), Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Business Center, Resort and more... now heres another same from PRICELINE... Priceline Express Deal; $63 per night 4* Rancho Mirage - Indian Wells - Palm Desert Rated 8.0 out of 10 (or higher) Indoor or Outdoor Pool Pets Allowed Restaurant Fitness Center Business Center they look to be the same hotel IMHO.. Dont know which but can someone identify Heres the kicker.... So i went ahead and did a bid on the NAME your Own price part of PRICELINE, same area same 4* hotel. I bid $55, it was not accepted instead this happened. "Try Again Right Now We searched hundreds of options to find your hotel room, however we can't accept your offer of $55 per room, per night. Your credit card has not been charged for Request Number 240-919-XXX-XX. If you are willing to raise your price by $12 to $67 per room, per night, you can try the same request again right now. Normally you are required to change additional items (add zones, star level, or dates) in order to try your request again. However we are able to extend this one-time opportunity to you because of the zone, quality level and dates you requested. Name Your Own Price® (per room night) Total charges, including taxes and service fees, are shown on the next page." I don't think i should do it for $67 dollars, its probably going to be the exact same hotel on PRICELINE's express deal. What do you guys think? WWYD?
thereuare Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! I'm not currently seeing either of the Rancho Mirage properties above offered on HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS when searching for your dates... are you still seeing either of these listed at the prices you've quoted above? If you are still seeing the same hotel(s), for the HOTWIRE offer please post the full list of amenities associated with this offer, as i believe there are likely more than just those above, as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. To ensure you're seeing the compelte set of amenities, try the following: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you find and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

AaronJB Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 My guess for the 4* PRICELINE EXPRESS would be the Hyatt Indian Wells. My guess for the 4* HOTWIRE would be the Hyatt Indian Wells or possibly the La Quinta Resort Club. Did you want to try bidding again first? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Nmtmev Posted July 23, 2014 Author Report Posted July 23, 2014 Well I just said to heck with it and played the priceline game @ $67 like the thing on the last post said and I ended up getting the westin mission hills resort. Mind you, I am traveling with a beautiful woman and no kids. I think for the price it should be well worth it. It would end up being $220 for both nights with that stupid resort fee + all the wonderful good ol USA taxes rolled on. For sure I will be politely haggling the check in person for a little nicer room. Maybe even try the old $20 trick and my charming smile. The last time I did that I won a room on priceline at the JW Marriott last year for only $78 a night Friday/Sat. The lady god bless her looked at me and gave me the $20 right back like I darn messed up. I lit up red like a Xmas tree it was embarrasing. She was very polite and still hooked me up with a better room!!!! I will report back if anyone is interested to see what I did how I went about it and what the result was.
AaronJB Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Congrats on your success. :) Awesome deal for this Westin property! Glad you are pleased with the win and follow-up reviews are always appreciated. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay.
Nmtmev Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 All I gotta say is wow. They took care of me 100% gave me the best room in the house. I didnt get any priceline discrimination. I was just really polite with the check in clerk and told her we were there for a special occasion they took care of me no problem. I'll chock it up to the best deal I ever got on priceline or for any hotel booking site period. I think that the mean rude and demanding people who are bland are the ones who get screwed. Like someone always told me if you don't ask politely and make it count you will never get what you want.
thereuare Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Glad to hear you had a great stay and were treated well by the property. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
