Priceline Hotel: Hotel In Barcelona September 25-September 28

We are now looking for a hotel in Barcelona from Sept 25-Sept 28.  Has anyone been there and know which zones through priceline that are good?

 

Also, are 4 stars good enough for Barcelona?

budget around 200 dollars per night.

 

we havent made plans yet but were thinking:

Basilica

Subirachs Sculptures

Park Guell

Even being walking distance to water/beach would be nice.

 

We want to be around walking distance or even in lively areas.  I am not sure which areas though.

Im considering La Ramblas North and South, and that should include Barri Gotic.  Is it safe picking those areas?

The street La Rambla, bisecting the two Las Ramblas Priceline zones, is a tree-lined pedestrian mall.  Great fun and always full of people just enjoying themselves. 

 

As in other major cities (US included), pickpockets are always an issue.  But the usual precautions will take care of that.  On www.ricksteves.com is a particularly thorough Travel Tips area with a good discussion on such things.

 

And while I'm at it, I hope you are getting some guide books for this whirlwind tour?   Lots of them in your local library.  And you can purchase the ones you particularly like, either paper or nowadays a downloaded electronic version.  I find the more I read and study before a trip, the more I get out of it.
