I am willing to spend about $50. I dont care what the location is (prefer pleasant), but the hotel needs to be good. Any suggestions about the strategy? and suggestions about location? (never been to houston).Thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted November 23, 2005 Report Posted November 23, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Unfortunatley "nice" isn't a criteria you can select with Priceline... you have to be willing to select a (higher) star rating and hope it suits your needs.I would start by looking at the hotel lists for both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE.See if there are any zones where you are comfortable with all of the hotels within a star category (reaslizing that you may ultimately get a new hotel not yet on the hotel lists). With Hotwire you should do a search on their site and then see if any of the offerings match up with hotels that appear in our hotel lists, if it does post back so we can confirm. Once again, you coudl always get a hotel not yet in our lists, even though the star rating and amenities match up.Let us know what you come up with... we can't be much help until you're able to narrow down the zones that you are willing to stay in. I started bidding for 2.5 star hotels at galleria, northwest, west, conroe, cyfair(since they only have upto 2-star hotels) . Started out at $25 and aadded those areas, finally it upgraded to 3 star and confirmed for Sheraton North at $35/night. Good price I guess..what do you think?
