My apologies. It was Alamo rent a car.

As a side note, (and this may be discussed in another part of the forum), there's no way to pay when you use a toll highway in DFW area. I mistakenly forgot to turn off at the last exit before the toll began. I got off at the very first toll based exit. I looked up online how I can pay, and came across some posts via Google that described how there was a lot of fees by the company that tracks down the toll fare from the car rental company. I tried calling the toll highway service number, and gave the rep the license plate of the car that I used. Due to database upgrades they were doing (which, surprisingly, lasted multiple days), they weren't able to do any plate searches until July 14th. The rep I spoke to could not find the plate number of the car I used, and said that it either it didn't get billed, or was already billed so she couldn't tell me any specifics, which seemed pretty lame. I ended up being billed via the rental car company almost a month later, for almost 8 bucks, which I doubt is anywhere near what I actually paid had I been a TX toll pass owner.

Thanks for the follow-up.

Sorry to hear about the toll issue... while it may not be worthwhile when you only have one toll to pay, most rental companies (where tolls are prevalent) offer the ability to 'rent' a transponder so that you can use the EZPass lanes. While i don't like the rental fee, in an area such as NYC-metro where the EZPass lanes can have no wait and the 'manual pay' lanes can have an hour+ wait, it can be worth the additional expense.
