stevie23
Hello,I would love to stay at any of the properties right on the beach road, such as The Georgian, Shutters, Huntley, etc.Is my hopeful budget ok?Thank you! Link to comment
AaronJB
I think your budget should be more than enough for these dates - if anything, given what I'm seeing you should be able to come in well below budget, as there's a 4* in the Santa Monica zone on HOTWIRE for these date/s for $108 (although the price you see may vary slightly). However, the issue becomes no guarantee of the hotel/s wanted or the exact location. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
stevie23
Thank you!My issue here is our Santa Monica experience will be nowhere near as good if we are not ON the beachfront. I've seen a few not as nice places way, way back which would take about 20 mins to walk to and we just don't want that. However, i doubt those places were 4*.And i just checked the hotel list and as far as i can tell, all the 4* ones i would be very happy with. I don't know if there even ARE any 4* places i wouldn't like. Link to comment
thereuare
The 4* on HOTWIRE lists 'Near Beach' as an amenity which means that it is a 'short walk' to the beach: Near Beach, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly ... at half your target budget you'll need to decide if the $108 price point is worth the savings of needing to walk a few blocks to get to the beach (my guess for this property would be the Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica) If being directly on the beach is a must have then you can search our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com which will show you hotels near almost any location in the world and you can easily see star rating, prices, and location to determine what would be your best deal that is directly on the beach. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. stevie23
Thank you again. I had a look at the Maps.Hotels site. May I ask if the prices that appear are Price.line / Hot.wire prices or are they the regular prices for the hotels? Link to comment
thereuare
MAPS and HOTELS.com shows 'retail' pricing... if you want something specific (ie- the hotel must be on the beach and no PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE hotels show a 'Beachfront' amenity) then you'll need to pay up and pay retail... if you're flexible and willing to accept something 'near beach' then you can use the opaque services; that's the trade-off. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
